About pro audio search

pro audio search is designed to be an objective tool to help you find the gear you’re looking for. Describe what you’re looking for directly, search via filters, or look for specific brands. The goal is to help you find all the options that might work for you.

Back when I was an audio engineer I was the person you’d ask about who made what. I read all the pro audio publications (Resolution was my all time favorite), attended tradeshows, scoured websites, talked to people, etc. I wanted to know as much about what gear was out there as I could. I won’t ever get a chance to meet all of you in person, but my hope is that with pro audio search I’ll still be a resource for people who want to know who makes what, what it does, and where they can get it.

Pro audio search is a work in progress. I’m adding new manufacturers and builders as I discover them.

What’s in the catalog

Everything I can find. For me, “pro audio” includes recording, mixing, mastering, live sound, and some install/systems integration/AV. But the site leans heavy toward recording, mixing, and mastering since that’s what I know best.

Blank specs

In case you’re wondering about the empty fields: a blank spec means the manufacturer doesn’t publish that one. I’d rather leave it blank than guess.

Where to buy

“Where to buy” on this site is a bit of a misnomer. Not every builder/manufacturer has “dealers” or distributors. So for the purposes of this site, “where to buy” means either the manufacturer’s own webstore, their dealer/distributor network, or sometimes a link back to the product page. It’s imperfect. But the idea is once you find a piece of gear you’re interested in, the manufacturer is a good place to start looking when you’re ready to purchase. Worst case scenario, you’ll have to contact the manufacturer directly and ask where you can purchase their gear locally. You’d make somebody’s day.
