Notes: CURRENT product, announced/launched at NAMM 2026 (Jan 22-24, 2026), successor to the discontinued original ML-2 (discontinued September 15, 2025). Gold-sputtered 1/2-inch cardioid capsule, 16 dB self-noise (per B&H). Same 'neutral capture' design philosophy as ML-1A: the mic itself is a flat-response transducer; character/mic-model emulation happens in the bundled VMS plugin (software, out of scope). Price is per matched pair, not per mic. Ships with a 3-month Complete Access plugin subscription (out of scope). No current Slate Digital preamp/interface hardware exists to pair with it — VMS ONE preamp and VRS8 interface are both discontinued. Country of manufacture not stated on official materials.
